rock hard

the landscape looks as though

it once flowed

waves of lava

breaking on a shore

that came before

now frozen

inviting contemplation

of what comes next

an ocean

of rock waiting for 

the next waves

The landscape of Iceland seems surreal at times, so the prompt and that landscape seemed suited to each other.
